Application Method – Apply by Brush or Spray
Thinning – No more than 10% for spraying
Cleaning – Clean all equipment thoroughly with water immediately after use.
Mild Steel
- Use AlgenTech™ to sanitize the roofing substrate from all grease and oil
- Sandblast steel back to bright metal, ensure all sanding dust is removed
- Apply 2 coats RostGuard™ allowing 45 minutes at 25°C to dry between coats
- Apply top coats
Previously Painted Mild Steel
- Remove all loose, peeling paint (cross-cut test) – where paint has been removed back to metal, sand metal to a bright finish and edges to scar zero
- Remove all rust, using RostTech™ Rust Converter
- Prime the exposed metal only, with 2 coats RostGuard™ – allow to dry between coats
- Apply top coats
New Galvanized Iron
- Use AlgenTech™ to sanitize the roofing substrate from all grease and oil
- Remove all rust from galvanized iron surface, using RostTech™ Rust
- Converter Apply 1 coat RostGuard™
- Apply top coats
Previously Painted Galvanised Iron
- Remove all loose, peeling paint (cross-cut test) – where paint has been removed back to bare metal, sand metal to a bright finish and edges to scar zero
- Remove all rust, using RostTech™ Rust Converter
- Apply 1 coat RostGuard™ to areas where rust was converted – allow to dry
- Apply 1 coat RostGuard™ to all exposed galvanising, resulting in 2 coats where rust was converted
- Apply top coats
Primed Steel 10m2/L
1-2 Coats depending on the surface material (See spec sheet for specific detail)
+/- 45 minutes per coat at ideal 25°C
