AlgenTech™ XE Protect, our dry state microbial fungus and algae attack protector, is added to the Rubber Tech™ Liquid Rubber Paint™ range to inhibit future organism growth. This process considerably lengthens the lifetime of waterproofing.
AlgenTech™ is recommended for preparation of biocidal wash solutions used in the pre-decoration cleaning of paints, masonry, brick, wood and plaster. AlgenTech™ may also be used as a sterilising wash in industrial manufacturing areas where plant hygiene is important.
Optimum use concentrations will depend on the condition of the surface to which AlgenTech™ will be applied. Normal use levels will be in the range 0.5 – 3% but, where microbiological growth is particularly severe, a 5% solution may be necessary. 0.25 – 0.5% is recommended for the wet-state preservation of products compatible with cationic additives.
It is recommended to prepare AlgenTech™ solutions by simple but efficient mixing, slowly adding the product to water. AlgenTech™ is a strongly cationic product and therefore incompatible with formulations containing anionic components.
It may, however, be used with other cationic or non-ionic compounds. Users are therefore strongly advised to carry out their compatibility tests prior to initial application.
