AsbestoSeal™ is expertly formulated to safely bind and encapsulate weathered fibre cement surfaces and asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) to prevent the release of hazardous fibers into the air. This high-performance solution is designed to seal and primes the surface for overcoat. It’s specialised formula additionally inhibits future organism and bacterial growth, further extending the life of your asset whilst protecting the environment.
AsbestoSeal™ has been laboratory approved and certified to be a proven encapsulation solutions that restores the integrity of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) by applying a bonding layer over the substrate. It provides long-lasting protection against the risks associated with asbestos exposure, offering a safe, effective method for managing asbestos without the need for removal or costly abatement processes.
Mixing – Apply by Brush or Spray
Application Method – Brush, Roller and Airless Spray
Thinning – This Product is ready for use un-thinned; thinning with water will reduce its properties/durability
Cleaning – Application equipment clean-up is with clean tap water.
Surface Preparation
Previously Painted Galvanized Iron
- Remove all loose, flaking and bubbling paint.
- Remove all dust, grease, foreign material, fungal and algae growth.
- Allow to dry.
- Apply one thick coat of Rubber Roofs AsbestoSeal™
- AsbestoSeal™ acts as a primer and is over coat ready. Apply a final layer of RubberTech ThermoTech / Liquid Rubber Paint to waterproof the encapsulated area (a normal paint layer can also be applied).
Application
- Stir well before use.
- With brush or roller apply a generous coat of Rubber Tech AsbestoSeal™ to the area that needs protecting.
- Allow to dry 3-4 hours before recoating.
- With a Brush or roller apply a second generous coat.
- 1 thick coat of the product are used for best results.
- This product is ready for use un-thinned; thinning with water will reduce its Properties/Durability
- Clean tools immediately after use with clean tap water.
- Do not apply before 09:00 and after 6:00 in the winter.
- Especially designed for use over Asbestos and fiber Cement Roofs
3-6 SQM per 1 liter
Although the spreading rate will vary with porosity and type of substrate, for uncoated new surfaces work on 2-3 square meters per liter for the first coat and 4-6 square meters per liter for subsequent coats and for when applied to sealed, previously painted substrates.
